"Mr President, allow me to make some brief concluding remarks.
Firstly, as the debate has shown, this is a technically complex issue. However, it affects many important legislative texts on the matter of commercial policy and therefore justifies the time and effort that have been invested in order to conclude this as quickly as possible.
Secondly, the Commission welcomes the broad scope of Parliament’s draft amendments and is happy to work on these issues together and discuss them in the trialogue to follow.
Thirdly and finally, the main issue remains knowing how we are to manage trade defence instruments. We should focus on this as we go into the trialogue. On behalf of the Commission, allow me to thank Parliament for its very detailed work on this issue and, at the same time, assure you of Commissioner De Gucht’s commitment to working with Parliament on common commercial policy."@en1
