"I agree with the rapporteur that it is essential to consolidate the process launched by the European Union following the Bologna conference of June 1999. Two aspects are crucial, in my opinion: student mobility and the recognition of degrees in the different Member States. They help to improve the employability of young Europeans. I am in favour of consolidating and ensuring broader use of these two principles in order to complete the creation of the European Higher Education Area. I also welcome the agreement on increased financial support for public and private universities, and I support the proposal to step up cooperation between the education and research sectors."@en1
