The issue of respect for human rights must not be dependent on political or commercial considerations, but must be considered a central element of the European Union’s foreign policy. I also wish to note that I voted in favour of maintaining within this text a reference to the tangible and durable follow-up of the resolution on sexual orientation and gender identity by the United Nations High Commissioner."@en1
