I am pleased to know that a pan-European telecommunications market will create new opportunities, will open up new territory and will stimulate the growth of a market with 500 million consumers. Access to the radio spectrum is essential to a huge range of activities: telecommunications, energy, research and, above all, global development. It will also enable all Europeans, in the city and the country, to enjoy the benefits of digital technology and broadband connections. I voted for this report in plenary for all these reasons."@en1
