". A speedy implementation of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) needs to be given top priority in order for the free movement of capital – one of the cornerstones of the internal market – to achieve its full potential. A deadline for the phasing-out of national credit transfer systems of two years after the entry into force of the regulation is, in my opinion, quite reasonable, in order to ensure timely implementation but at the same time in order to allow all the Member States enough time for comprehensive implementation. Laying down a fixed end date is important, not least in order to simplify information for the citizens and to guarantee them legal certainty."@en1
