Having been granted an ‘advanced status’ by the European Union, Morocco is actively cooperating on political, economic and even financial issues. We have a duty to support this country’s gradual integration into the internal market and to show that we are capable of responding positively to the desire for openness and dialogue voiced by the Moroccan nation. The Kingdom of Morocco’s participation in Community programmes marks an important stage in supporting the reforms undertaken by the Moroccan Government. I would also like to point out that this protocol to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement is consistent with the objectives of the EU’s new neighbourhood policy."@en1
