"I apologise, Mr President, but unfortunately the names were not being flashed up and I did actually ask to speak on this matter. I voted alongside my Group, the ECR, in favour of the report on the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market. We believe that the formal establishment of a European observatory for infringements of intellectual property rights is an important step towards fighting counterfeiting and piracy. This observatory will also promote the sharing of good practices in many areas and will be able to collect a wide pool of data. We believe that this will be a useful source of evidence in the debate on copyright infringement and on intellectual property rights more generally, particularly as certifiably impartial data in this area are currently very hard to come by with the existing set of regulations."@en1
