The first intervention I ever made in this House 20 years on, in 1999, was to draw attention to the fact that the British flag was flying upside down. This morning I entered the Parliament at about 7 a.m. and, guess what? The British flag was again flying upside down. I note that this has now been corrected, but can you please assure me that this will not occur again. After 33 years we should by now have learned which way up to hang the British flag."@en1
