lpv:translated text	"In an effort to promote and to allow access to energy in developing countries insofar as this access contributes to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), I feel that it is important for the European Parliament to respond to the United Nations General Assembly’s declaration of 2012 as the ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy for All’. However, Norbert Neuser’s politically biased report refuses developing countries the right to be free to choose their energy policy by calling on ‘the Commission and the Member States neither to fund nor to otherwise encourage the use of nuclear power in developing countries’. I therefore voted against this paragraph which imposes choices on developing countries by limiting the energy sources to which they can have access. Nuclear power is a clean energy source that could give millions of citizens in developing countries access to basic services such as mains electricity."@en1
