lpv:translated text	"This programme has shown itself to be indispensable over the years and has a noble goal: preventing and combating all forms of physical, sexual and psychological violence against children, young people and women. Violence against women, for example, is scarcely a feature of public discourse, is underestimated, and is often hidden and played down in society. Instead, in order to put effective political, legislative and cultural defences in place, we need contemporary society to be fully aware of the severity and tragic nature of this phenomenon. My vote in favour of the text helps to underline the importance of a programme that has already developed more than 500 projects. I hope that the amendment to the new 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework will see the Commission confirm its intent to renew the newly generated funds under the auspices of two proposals for a decision, which it ought to table in mid-November 2011, as part of the package on the 2014-2020 multiannual financial framework."@en1
