lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the EU humanitarian aid programmes for victims of various disasters or protracted conflicts are an integral part of EU policy. The Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, which is responsible for carrying out this activity on behalf of the European Union, works with more than two hundred partner organisations with different structures. On the basis of framework agreements, considerable funds are thus provided to the partner organisations for helping the victims of various disasters. The control mechanisms for the meaningful and effective use of funds by these organisations must therefore be an important aspect of the work of our administration. The Commission’s proposal to improve the supervision processes of the effective management of European taxpayers’ funds for humanitarian aid should therefore be seen as an effort to eliminate the deficiencies of the current model of control in order to achieve a more efficient use of these EU funds in the future."@en1
