There is an urgent need to guarantee food wastage and this document may be important in this area. I would highlight the ambitious and necessary goal of reducing wastage by 50% by 2025. Exchanging best practices at European and national level, as suggested by the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, the proposed awareness-raising campaigns in schools, and the possible choice of 2013 as the European Year against Food Waste, may well also contribute to hitting the targets that we have set ourselves."@en1
