lpv:translated text	"This own-initiative report identifies problems upstream of farm production, highlights the ever-growing dependence of farmers on an increasingly concentrated input industry, and suggests a number of measures to be adopted within the upcoming CAP reform. Farmers need support in improving agronomic and environmental performance in order to address the new climate, environmental and economic challenges. I think that the new CAP must include specific support measures to encourage more efficient agronomic practices and improved, sustainable management of agricultural resources, with the aim of achieving stable and productive agriculture, reducing input costs and nutrient wastage and increasing innovation, resource efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability within farming systems.
