The most toxic products will be banned, in particular, carcinogens, which interfere with genes and hormones and harm fertility. Exceptions to this rule will only be permitted if such a substance is absolutely necessary in order to prevent or control a serious danger to public or animal health, or to the environment. I believe the rules governing biocides should be guided by the public interest, in order to protect human and animal health and the environment, so I voted in favour."@en1
