"I also voted in favour of the draft regulation from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe on pedestrian safety and the draft regulation on light emitting diodes (LEDs). Here again, the regulation essentially aims at taking away red tape and will allow European industry to be in a position to operate on global markets. Consequently, we authorised the European Commission, the European Union’s representative at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, to vote in favour of this regulation. Finally, in light of its advances in road safety and trade, we can see that this legislation also has an environmental impact."@en1
