However, I demand that the European Commission should act on this important vote and quickly exert all necessary pressure on the government of Uzbekistan to put paid to the use of children in the cotton harvest. Europe cannot enter into agreements with countries that act in such a way. Cotton is a very important raw material for the textiles industry in my Padania. However, we have to insist that it be harvested in accordance with human rights. Children should be in school, not working in fields."@en1
