"This motion for a resolution reveals Parliament’s concern with the alarming situation of detention conditions in the EU, calling on Member States to guarantee the respect and protection of detainees’ fundamental rights, especially those of the most vulnerable. The view of the document is that there should be a common minimum standard of EU detention conditions to be applied in all Member States. Parliament also welcomes the 14 June 2011 communication entitled ‘Strengthening mutual trust in the European judicial area A Green Paper on the application of EU criminal justice legislation in the field of detention’."@en1
