"Madam President, a German company recently opened Europe’s largest solar park in Eggebek, located close to Germany’s border with Denmark, and the task of assembling the solar panels was carried out by a Romanian firm. More than 400 000 solar panels were assembled in just four months. The park has a capacity of 83 MW, covers an area of 3.2 km
and the investment amounts to EUR 130 million. The Romanian company that fitted the panels used a team of 250 workers, the majority of whom were from a commune called Tudor Vladimirescu, in Arad County. The Romanians fitted, on average, more than 3 000 panels a day.
There are numerous examples like this in the EU involving skilled and highly qualified workers from Romania. I welcome Germany’s decision to change the criteria for accessing the labour market, but I would like all Romanian and Bulgarian citizens to enjoy free access to this market inside the EU."@en1
