lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the purpose of this proposal for a directive is to improve certain provisions relating to the composition, use of reserved descriptions, production specifications and the labelling of fruit juices, with the aim of ensuring better distribution within the European Union. The report is a second amendment to Directive 2001/112/EC and aims to make a better distinction between fresh fruit juices and fruit juices from concentrate and nectars. We wanted the rules to be simplified for restoring flavours and to introduce the mention of sugar being removed from the list of authorised ingredients. At the same time, there is also the proposal to authorise a limited period for having the description ‘with no added sugar’ printed on fruit juice labelling. As far as the producers are concerned, we must give them the necessary period of time to adapt to this situation of producing juices with no added sugar and to inform consumers of all their products in every country that there will be new products available in stores without this description at the same time as existing products. We must not forget that consumers themselves must be kept informed of all the changes envisaged by the new directive. Last but not least, I wish to congratulate the rapporteur on this particularly important report."@en1
