"I regret that in Italy, 528 workers were made redundant by 323 construction firms in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region. It is always awful when, during such testing times, people lose employment. However, this is happening across the continent and should be the priorities of the nations in which those people live or the prerogative of allied nations to help where possible countries most deeply affected by major structural changes in world trade patterns and the financial crisis. I thus, unfortunately, cannot agree to give Italy an extra EUR 3.9 million as I do not believe this Adjustment Fund should even exist as an EU competence."@en1
