lpv:translated text	"Mr President, last year, without the agreement of neighbouring states, Hungary unilaterally adopted a non-standard form of nationality, which is granted on the basis of ethnicity, with no real link of the citizen to the state in question. Since Hungary has rejected and continued to postpone a communication on this matter, the Slovak Republic has passed an appropriate amendment to nationality. This includes the principle of withdrawal of Slovak nationality where there is a voluntary acquisition of nationality of another state. This principle is not contrary to European standards. Quite the reverse – it is included in the European Convention on Nationality as well as in the legislation of many EU Member States. I would therefore like to recommend to Hungarian colleagues in the European Parliament that, rather than hysterical nationalistic speeches, they put pressure on the government in Budapest to begin correct negotiations over this issue with neighbouring states."@en1
