"?
It is estimated that there are currently 2.2 million people living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in the European Union and neighbouring countries. It is known that the transmission of this disease is preventable and adequate prevention would clearly allow the rate of infection to be reduced to virtually zero. In addition, timely detection can considerably reduce the effects of infection on health. Statistical data have shown that the infection rate can be reduced by 96% in cases of early treatment. This context justifies a holistic approach to increase the information available to citizens at various levels, whether at the preventive level or at the next level of controlling the disease."@en1
