The European Union, which is committed to upholding the rule of law in regulating relations between peoples and states, was quick to demonstrate its support for the ICC, which is facing new challenges today: firstly, the issue of funding; secondly, the criticism that has been seeking to shoot down its credibility. In a situation like this, it is vital that Europe step up its commitment to this international conflict-resolution body, both in symbolic terms and in terms of material support.
