"As the sole international judicial body capable of trying individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, the International Criminal Court (ICC) ensures that human rights are respected and helps to maintain security throughout the world and to combat impunity. The issuance of arrest warrants against Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, one of the sons of the former Libyan dictator, and the former head of the Libyan intelligence service, has borne fruit: both are due to be tried by the ICC and Libya. This shows the importance of the Court. I therefore voted in favour of the Kreissl-Dörfler report."@en1
