"I voted for this proposal, as I believe it will make a useful contribution to reducing the high unemployment rate in Ireland. Following the severe global financial crisis, the demand for labour in the Irish civil construction sector fell by around half, and this sector is not expected to recover quickly. In view of this, it is important to help the retraining of some of the country’s unemployed workforce, and this justifies the use of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund."@en1
