"I voted for this proposal, as I believe it will make a useful contribution to reducing the high unemployment rates in Ireland. Following the international global financial crisis, demand for labour in the Irish civil construction sector has fallen by around half, and the sector is not expected to recover quickly. In view of this, it is important to contribute to the retraining of some of the country’s workforce, and it makes perfect sense to use the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to this end."@en1
