lpv:translated text	"Mr Březina’s report concerns the Framework Programme of the European Atomic Energy Community for nuclear research and training activities (fusion, fission and radiation protection). The programme’s main goal is to ensure that the EU-funded research in these fields continues, along the path these activities have taken in the period 2007-2011. Whilst I would vigorously defend substantial financial support for research and development, actions relating to nuclear energy merit particular attention as regards their final objective. There must be no construction of new nuclear power stations that runs counter to the safety standards that are essential to our fellow citizens. Research and development efforts must also be agreed in the field of renewable energies, which contribute to job creation and provide a high level of environmental protection. That is why I abstained from voting on this report."@en1
