The intention is to put forth strategic areas that should be covered by the Consumer Agenda, to be published by the Commission next year. The overriding priority for this agenda should be the safety of food, of health care and of products, including financial ones. The implementation of these measures should also contribute to reducing the inequalities between European consumers, to promoting a low carbon economy, and to better protection from advertising for children, as well as for older people and those who have been left most vulnerable by the current crisis.
