"Madam President, the report is correct in pointing out that there is a 70% higher poverty rate among persons with disabilities. This facet of society, too, is very vulnerable. We do not have the time to go into an analysis of the reasons and solutions. I would like to highlight three points. The first is adherence to the Charter of Fundamental Rights, which is very important and is rightly included in the report. The second point – and before I come to it, I would like to state that the implementation of European Union strategy is important and should be strictly adhered to – is the Europe 2020 strategy. I consider both of these important in this respect. The third point, because there is another issue that severely impacts people with disabilities, is the matter of accessibility. Without physical and communicational accessibility, there can be no solution for these people. This is a very important question in the European Union, and should be resolved as soon as possible."@en1
