"− Crimes involving child pornography must be combated forcefully, and I am in favour of the EU taking steps to further strengthen the protection of children. However, the solution is not to be found in blocking Internet sites that may contain criminal material, as such measures involve turning a blind eye to the problem rather than preventing the attacks from taking place. Blocking the websites of private actors can also give rise to huge problems from the point of view of legal certainty. It is therefore good that this report does not focus on blocking as a method, but prescribes other methods instead. I voted in favour of the report."@en1
