lpv:translated text	"In the current economic climate, it is vital that the financial mechanisms available to the European Union and its Member States be able operate as efficiently as possible, so as to enable the implementation of European policies and ensure the greatest possible transparency in how the taxpayer’s money is used. In order for this to happen, it is vital that these mechanisms be simple and transparent, and that the administrative and bureaucratic burden falling on the beneficiaries of European funding be reduced. The amendments to the Commission’s proposal, for which the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) voted, have improved the original text and are moving in the direction favoured by everyone who wants a more agile, dynamic and, at the same time, clearer EU as regards the procedures that it uses and the way in which it implements and makes available its funds."@en1
