The regulation laid down the budgetary principles and financial rules governing the establishment and implementation of the general budget, ensuring sound and effective management, control and protection of the financial interests of the Union, as well as increasing transparency, to be respected in all legislative acts and by all institutions. I believe that the draft regulation proposed by Parliament simplifies EU financial rules and makes them more precise, taking into account the EU’s current circumstances and future challenges, and also ensures that there is greater transparency in the EU budget and improves its efficiency and effectiveness."@en1
