"Mr President, I would like to raise a point of order about the voting list that we will have on the budget. In Heading 1006, on Members’ general expenditure, the proposal of the Committee on Budgets comes before Amendment 985, which proposes a reduction in this figure. This order contravenes Rule 161 of the Rules of Procedure, which gives voting priority to the proposal furthest from the original proposal. My second observation would be to ask you, Mr President, that Amendment 985, tabled in writing by 40 Members and proposing a 5% reduction in general expenditure, be respected in the order of voting; in other words, that you might reconsider your decision of only wishing to vote on the 25% reduction, and ask this House which amendments it would prefer to vote on."@en1
