The experiences and results of the mutual evaluation are useful and valuable and, therefore, the report proposes to extend its use to other policy areas. The Services Directive was adopted in 2006 and remains a vital tool for creating a fully functioning single market in services. Member States have made significant efforts towards implementing it.
