lpv:translated text	"In July 2010, the European Commission published its White Paper on Insurance Guarantee Schemes (IGSs), which included a range of measures, in particular, as regards bankruptcy. This is quite an important issue, not just because of the need to bring to an end the great variety of systems existing in the various Member States, but also because of the interaction between IGSs and other issues under consideration in the EU; in particular, the Solvency II Directive, which will come into force in 2013 and will reduce the risk of insurer bankruptcy to one in 200. This report by Mr Skinner is based on the Commission proposals. In these disturbed times of global economic and financial crisis, it is essential that these measures be implemented as soon as possible, so as to increase the confidence of European consumers, who should be better informed on this issue. I therefore welcome the adoption of this report, for which I voted."@en1
