"I support the renewal of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund after 2013. In a draft resolution presented by Pervenche Berès (S&D, France) and Marian Harkin (ALDE, Ireland), it is proposed to establish an own-budget line for the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund. Currently, the sum reserved for the EGF (EUR 500 million per year) comes from Community funds initially earmarked for other purposes. The aim of a separate budget line is to provide for a faster and more effective procedure allowing for advances to be paid to applicant Member States within a period of two months from the registration of their application. I voted in favour."@en1
