Not for one second does it show any concern about the consequences that such sanctions will have on the people, nor about the Commission’s legitimacy in imposing sanctions on elected governments. The only concession that is made is on public debates that will take place in the European Parliament, if proposed by the latter. Not in the country in question. In other words, the people should not interfere in the machinations of a process of which they are the victims. I will never allow the Commission to attack France. I voted against."@en1
