"I thought they were waving at me. I believe that trade can contribute to peace but, of course, more trade does not automatically result in a more peaceful environment. We believe, for example, that trade could play a very important role in the next stages of the Arab Spring, and we will consider next month negotiating directives for free trade agreements with the four countries concerned: Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt, so we will continue in that way. You could say exactly the same about the African countries. For example, I firmly believe that the EPAs could contribute a great deal to regional integration in Africa; regional integration is probably one of the important factors also for more peace and stability in Africa."@en1
