"I have lent my full support to Ms Bauer’s report because I think that active ageing ought to play a crucial role in European Union policies. Statistics confirm that life expectancy is increasing and we are therefore duty-bound to develop a strategy providing opportunities for integration even after the end of one’s working life. This takes on particular significance for women, who have always had an important role in family life, whichever economic sector they are in. I therefore welcome the introduction of various forms of support to protect women in the labour market and those approaching retirement age, as well as bolstering their integration with new generations."@en1
