However, provision was made for the progressive liberalisation of agricultural production through periodic review agreements, to be carried out every two years. As the latest review agreement came into force in 2003, negotiations for a new review took place between March 2008 and January 2010, culminating in the draft agreement now before Parliament for adoption.
