Indeed, Switzerland is the European Union’s fourth largest trading partner and represents the third largest export market for EU agricultural products. I voted to conclude this report, whose purpose is the reciprocal recognition of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products, which will enable EU exporters of key agricultural produce, such as meat and dairy products, to one of our closest and largest export markets, to enjoy greater protection of their designations of origin and geographical indications, so reflecting their specialised knowledge and the high quality of their foodstuffs."@en1
