"In favour. This resolution on the repeal of certain legal acts that have become obsolete concerns a number of acts which were adopted over the last decades, have exhausted all their effects, but remain technically in force. They have become obsolete because of their temporary character or because their content has been taken up by successive acts. Several measures linked to the accession of new Member States provided for transitory measures immediately after their accession and have become obsolete by now. A number of legal acts are repealed under the current proposal, which is based on the interinstitutional agreement on better law making (OJ C 321 of 31.12.2003). This agreement targets the simplification and reduction of the volume of legislation (point 35). According to the agreement, ‘legislation will be updated and condensed, inter alia, through the repeal of acts which are no longer applied and through the codification or recasting of other acts’."@en1
