lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this resolution expressing concern over the decision by the Russian Ministry of Justice not to register the People’s Freedom Party on the eve of elections to the State Duma. The reason for not registering the party has yet to be explained, but the EU is extremely keen for the elections in Russia to represent a strong step towards strengthening democracy. The refusal to register the aforementioned party in Russia may reduce freedom of choice and citizens’ confidence in their state. Russia is and will continue to be one of the EU’s most important partners. We should be bound not just by mutual economic and trade dependence, but also by the common goals of sustainable cooperation in the neighbourhood and throughout the world."@en1
