"This report proposes introducing body scanners in airports in order to further reduce the risk of potential attackers successfully transporting hazardous material on board airplanes. Considering that the danger of new attacks has not entirely diminished but, on the contrary, has been reconfirmed by the recent attacks in the United States and in Sweden, as well as the continued existence of al-Qaeda, despite the killing of Osama bin Laden, more stringent security measures appear to be more than necessary. Since the report emphasises what health risks could arise from the implementation of new body scanners and then stipulates that they could be introduced only after thorough medical assessments have confirmed that they are not harmful to the human body, the report can be adopted and I am therefore voting in favour."@en1
