The compromise reached with the Council has achieved an adequate balance of the interests of food producers and consumers, whilst safeguarding public health, and all the Member States support it. I therefore consider this a victory for consumers and hope that the new rules applicable to labelling of foodstuffs will enable them to make more informed choices."@en1
