"Madam President, I supported the adoption of this report, which was balanced and contained concrete proposals. Furthermore, while the crisis is far from over – although many politicians like to claim it is – I am convinced that the European Parliament’s special Financial, Economic and Social Crisis Committee, which has become a temporary committee, should continue its work, and I would support it in doing so. We can only give due recognition to the Committee’s work up to this point. We must recognise the work it has done in drafting recommendations on the European Union’s sustainable growth model and in contributing to the creation of a coordinated policy. I think it is important for the committee to continue its work so that attention can be focused on the large debts of the European states and on a solution for the problems of the euro crisis."@en1
