lpv:translated text	"− I voted in favour of this text because I believe that the European Union needs to improve its strategies for post-2013 cohesion policy, in order not to lose ground to countries which, in comparison, will perform far better in demographic and economic terms. If the European Union wishes to compete economically and politically, and if this relative decline in significance is not to be accompanied by a loss of prosperity, the community must act in a more concerted manner with regard to vital issues on which it needs to secure its future. Cohesion policy must take advantage of the fact that European networks are very strongly rooted in global networks, and encourage more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become involved in international growth markets."@en1
