According to current demographic and economic projections, Europe will become less significant at global level over the coming decades. It is therefore essential that it adapt its global policy to these upcoming challenges. It is well known, for example, that the area of global trade has more links with third countries, in particular because of the Member States’ pasts. Its linguistic and cultural diversity is also clear. As such, one option that could be pursued, and is highlighted by the rapporteur, involves advocating European added value: that is, what Europe can best offer global society. It is, therefore, about ways of solving a problem that Europeans cannot henceforth dismiss."@en1
