"With the development of the European Union and the removal of individual barriers to residence for EU citizens, it is also necessary to secure a single system for citizens and consumers living within the framework of the single market. The European emergency number 112 has a clear justification in this context, since it has great potential for saving lives and for the overall protection of EU citizens. It is therefore necessary to ensure access to this service for all levels of society, including disabled people (people with impaired hearing or speech etc.) and other vulnerable groups. It should therefore be a priority for the EU in the near future to increase awareness of the emergency number 112 and to increase its smooth operation throughout the Union, even in the most remote regions. For the reasons mentioned above, I support the position of the rapporteur."@en1
