lpv:translated text	"Cohesion policy constitutes one of the targets of the EU 2020 strategy and for this reason it is necessary to pay greater attention to the coordination of activities between the EU and the Member States which depend on this sector. I, therefore, voted in favour of this document. The economic crisis, as well as the reform made to the policy for the period 2007-2013, have caused activity in Europe to slow down. With a view to benefitting fully from the potential offered by cohesion policy, as the has illustrated clearly, it is necessary to commit in a more determined manner to reducing the gap between the highly-developed EU regions and those that are less developed. Pursuing this goal is, in my opinion, possible by increasing the funds intended for cohesion policy and facilitating greater control over project approval and over methods of investment."@en1
